Our Mission
Al As-Haab Society for Social Development is committed to contributing to the social and spiritual development of communities in The Gambia through Islamic values, education, humanitarian assistance, peace, unity and cooperation.
Our mission is to serve people in need, strengthen communities and create opportunities for individuals—particularly children, young people and women—to learn, develop and contribute positively to society.
What We Stand For
Islamic Development
We promote the learning and practice of Islamic teachings and wisdom through Qur'an circles, Masjid activities, education and spiritual development, in accordance with the Qur'an and Sunnah.
Partnership and Service
We seek to maintain strong relationships with local and international organisations and work collaboratively to advance social development and humanitarian objectives.
Education
We support education as a foundation for human development, including children's education and the establishment and operation of bilingual Arabic-English schools.
Women and Girls
We seek to support girls' access to education and programmes that contribute to the development and skills of women within the community.
Youth Development
We recognise young people as an essential part of the present and the future. We seek to encourage their development, education and positive contribution to society.
Peace, Unity and Cooperation
We promote peace, harmony, love, tolerance, sharing and care for neighbours while encouraging cooperation and unity within communities.
Humanitarian Assistance
We support people in need through initiatives such as orphan sponsorship, assistance to widows, food and Iftar programmes, clothing assistance, Qurbani activities and access to water through borehole projects. Our humanitarian work is extended to those in need regardless of faith.

Obedience in line with Allah's guidance to achieve human development.
